Crunch Topple Comets, 6-2

SYRACUSE, N.Y. --- The Syracuse Crunch toppled the Utica Comets, 6-2, tonight at the Upstate Medical University Arena. Otto Somppi paced the Crunch with his second consecutive two-goal game to advance the team to 12-8-1-0 on the season and 3-4-0-0 in the 14-game season series with the Comets. Goaltender Spencer Martin recorded back-to-back wins with 26 saves in net for the Crunch. Comets goaltender Joel Hofer turned aside 29-of-24. Oilers Add Size to Back End with Curtis Leonard

TULSA, OK- The Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks, announced Monday that the team has traded Alan Lyszczarczyk to the Fort Wayne Komets for defenseman Curtis Leonard. Leonard, 28, joins the Oilers with 203 career ECHL games played, compiling 48 points (8G, 40A) and a +59 rating with Reading, Evansville, Fort Wayne Jacksonville and Greenville. Leonard also has one game in the AHL with Rochester, registering an assist in the appearance. "Curtis brings what we're looking for," head coach Rob Murray said of his new defenseman. WHL Announces 2020-21 Season to Conclude Following Regular Season Schedule

Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today the 2020-21 WHL Season will conclude following the completion of the 24-game Regular Season schedule. Due to current public health conditions and the ongoing challenges with COVID-19, including restrictions on travel across both provincial and international borders, the WHL is not in a position to conduct the 2021 WHL Playoffs, including the WHL Championship Series.
